Police Officer I Ashley Morris, the Henderson Police Department’s Officer of the Month for November 2010.

The Officer of the Month for the Henderson Police Department in November 2010 is Police Officer I Ashley Morris.

Morris is a patrol officer assigned to Patrol Section 3. Since being released from field training in September she has proven that she is a hard worker and shows great enthusiasm for her work.

During the month of November, Morris issued fifteen citations, served twelve outstanding criminal processes, and made one felony and five misdemeanor arrests. Morris is constantly patrolling problem areas within her zone and is aware of problematic areas. She has conducted foot patrols within her zone, speaking with residents about crime prevention techniques.

On November 22, 2010, Morris responded to a call of a possible breaking and entering of a residence in progress. She was able to speak with a neighbor who advised her that he or she thought someone had entered the residence. She checked the perimeter of the residence and located a window that had been broken out. After a back-up unit arrived, she climbed through the window to clear the residence of any perpetrators. Once inside, she located a subject lying on a bed. The subject was detained while she continued her investigation. The subject had several jewelry boxes in his possession that he apparently was preparing to steal. The investigation tended to show that he had broken into the home, and he was subsequently charged with felonious breaking and entering.
