HPD makes arrest for assault


On Sunday, January 30, 2010, officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to 901B Water Street in Henderson, North Carolina in response to an assault that just occurred.

Pableto Alston of the above address indicated that he had been assaulted and suffered minor injuries. Alston alleged that he had been assaulted by Tabbarus Baskerville.

Officers conducted a search of the area and found Tabbarus Baskerville, 25, also of 901B Water Street. Baskerville was taken into custody and charged with assault inflicting serious injury, injury to real property, and communicating threats. Baskerville was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a $2,000 secured bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in Vance County District Court for February 22, 2011.

Officers conducted a warrant check on Baskerville and found that a warrant for his arrest was outstanding in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Baskerville is wanted in Virginia on a charge of felony hit and run and property damage greater than $1,000 dollars. Baskerville was placed in the Vance County Jail on this charge after failing to post a $25,000 secured bond. An extradition hearing is scheduled for February 22, 2011.
