Woman arrested for theft of clothing


On Friday, February 18, 2011, an officer of the Henderson Police Department responded to Belk’s Department Store, 350 N. Cooper Drive in Henderson in response to a larceny.

The store’s loss prevention officer reported that he had detained a female regarding the larceny of several items. Julia Ann Eatmon, 23, of 157 Island Creek Estate Road in Henderson was found to be in possession of one wrist watch, three pairs of panties, one camisole, one t-shirt, one pair of denim shorts, and one pair of bikini panties, all of which allegedly had been concealed and not paid for. The items were returned to the store.

Eatmon was charged with one felonious count of deactivating an anti-theft device, and one count of misdemeanor larceny. She was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a $5,000 secured bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in Vance County District Court on March 10, 2011.
