Alleged shoplifting duo arrested on multiple warrants


On Sunday March 7, 2011, officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to Citi Trends, 1654 N. Garnett Street in Henderson in response to a larceny.

Store employees advised police that two individuals had entered the store and left without paying for several items. The store employees were familiar with the suspects and provided identifying information to the officers.

A responding officer left the store and was able to locate the suspect vehicle. The officer conducted a vehicle stop and found that the vehicle was occupied by Alexander Small and Shante Perry. A warrant check showed outstanding warrants for both subjects in NCAWARE. Both subjects were taken into custody. Also, the officer was able to locate the items taken from Citi Trends inside the vehicle.

Alexander Small, 30, of 334 Southall Street in Henderson was charged with one count of failing to appear, one count of misdemeanor larceny, and one count of possession of stolen goods. He was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a $1,000 secured bond.

Shante Latoya Perry, 22, of 416 Harriett Street in Henderson was charged with one count of misdemeanor larceny, one count of possession of stolen goods, and one count of communicating threats. She was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a $1,000 secured bond. A trial date has been scheduled for April 7, 2011.
