Clerk assaulted in gas station robbery

On March 30, 2011 around 8:58 p.m. officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to Wilco Hess Trademart at 929 S. Garnett Street in Henderson, North Carolina in reference to a robbery that had just occurred at the business.

Upon arrival officers found that the clerk had been physically assaulted by the perpetrators. The assailants had punched the clerk numerous times. Also, an undisclosed amount of US currency was taken from the business.

The clerk was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The injuries were not life-threatening.

The assailants were described as two black males in their twenties wearing hooded jackets with their faces covered. The suspects left the scene on foot.

An investigation is being conducted by members of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
