For the weekend we have accumulated 2 activities happening in the Henderson Area, please check our calendar for information on Embrace Henderson and the YMCA Healthy Kids Day events. If you know of more to do this weekend, let everyone know below.
If you’re looking for something entertaining outside the area this weekend, may I suggest the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, in Durham, NC. The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival is an annual international event dedicated to the theatrical exhibition of non-fiction cinema. Each spring Full Frame welcomes filmmakers and film lovers from around the world to historic downtown Durham, North Carolina for a four-day, morning to midnight array of over 100 films as well as discussions, panels, and southern hospitality. Set within a four-block radius, the intimate festival landscape fosters community and conversation between filmmakers, film professionals and the public.
Thanks for mentioning the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. When I was working in Durham I did see a few of the films at this festival. One film I remember choosing to see was about bowling at least that is what I thought before seeing Bowling at Columbine. These are documentary films that are all reality non-fiction. I think there are four of these festivals across the nation and is the forum where this type of movie is judged for selection to be presented to the academy award judges to pick for best documentary film.
Raising Renee, maybe one worth watching. The story is about a developmentally challenged lady from Durham. Here is the link to the full schedule.

Has everyone seen the beautiful pinwheels out in front of the old City of Henderson building on Beckford Drive? Really brightens your day to ride by there & see that.
Yes, you may read about that here http://homeinhenderson.com/2011/04/15/child-abuse-prevention-event/
Did anyone in this area see hail stones with spikes in yesterday’s storm? The ones in my yard were maybe a 1/3 to 1/2 inch in diameter with spikes. That was a first for me.
Phil, the website looks great. I think Jason has done an amazing job with all his other professions as teacher, husband and father, and now you’ve taken it to the next level. Thank you both for all your efforts in giving us such an awesome public forum.
Anyone have any pictures they’d like to share from the storm? Email them to submit@homeinhenderson.com , and would love a story to go with them as well
Thank you! Now spread the word!
