President Obama has declared June to be national Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month noting: NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2011 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to eliminate prejudice everywhere it exists, and to celebrate the great diversity of the American people.

You would be. Keep following all of the stupid leadership of this country and keep headed for total destruction. We need more moral leadership for this country and not just what “feels’ good. I have nothing against these “declared’ people. They are free to do as they wish. Just morally they are wrong and should not be raised up on a pedestal. Our government should not honor them. Our country was founded on values they do not follow. This is wrong, wrong, wrong.

Why, when the Vance County Board of Education has such a nice building would they want to interview prospective superintendents in a Holiday Express. What is the problem? Secrecy overdone–does anyone else agree?
Prudence, the 4 meetings were scheduled to be closed session since May 31st. Effective today though they moved to the Holiday Inn Express for todays meeting, and the remaining 2 meetings on Friday and Saturday morning. I do not know why they moved, but the statement reads: “The only item on the agenda for each day will be a closed session for confidential personnel matters pursuant to G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6) and G.S. 115C-319.”
Closed Meeting is understandable due to interviews, but wouldn’t it be better if the meetings were in the attractive Graham Avenue building –after that pathetic building on near the court house? Didn’t they buy it to impress???
It boggles my brain–
Those people in the Taj Majal won’t be losing their jobs. With two Assistant Superintendants and all the bureaucratic positions out there it seems that instead of laying off teachers maybe they should eliminate some of these positions. They probably have someone in charge of illegal immigrants education.

In my opinion, at least one asst. superintendent should be eliminated because of budget constraints. I pray that the present interim superintendent does not become the new superintendent. There I said it!

It would seem to me that the same demographic who selected Scotty McQueery to be the American Idol would vote Obama out of office based on this proclamation alone. I don’t think dislike of homosexuals is prejudice; I think it is based on Biblical morality. This is still far and large a Christian country.
