If you’re looking for something to do Friday afternoon, head to the RBC Center in Raleigh for a free event. The Fourth Annual Canes Summer Fun Fest, presented by 99.9 FM the Fan, is set for Friday, July 22, at 5:30 p.m. at the RBC Center. The event includes live music, over 10 interactive inflatables and games, sledding on snow, free giveaways, guest speakers from the Hurricanes, appearances by Stormy and the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad, discounted concessions, extended hours for the Eye and a showing of a classic Hurricanes game. Parking and admission are free to the general public.
If you know of other events in the area to check out, hopefully something fun to do inside that provides air conditioning please share! The temperature on Saturday is expected to hit 102.

Well, I read this everyday but you are right, mudball, it is a low slower and not as much to comment on. Just logged on to let you know I’m still awake. The donkey must be a jackass. And I was one of his fans. Sad for the children.

I think most Americans are beginning to see a clear difference between Republicans and Democrats now as we are facing this fake debt limit crisis.
Democrats do not want to cut any spending and they want to raise taxes.
Republicans want to cut spending and lower taxes.
If your credit cards are maxed out at home and you are expecting less income in the future, do you continue to spend at that level and ask the bank to increase your credit limit? Or do you try to spend less and pay off your debt? It is common sense but our elected officials have none. They just want to buy votes with promises they can’t fulfill, or they are fulfilled on hard working American’s backs.
Remember all the sweet deals offered when they were buying Senate votes to pass Obamacare? And check the poverty level since Obama got in office, but the press will always just give him a pass about that and everything else.
Pay attention to the Tea Party Republicans and their message, candidates like Ron Paul, Michell Bachmann and Herman Cain. Don’t let the liberal media trash them and destroy them personally because they hate their message that just might make sense to most Americans. Obama can pretend we don’t know what is going on and can complain and whine that he has this situation to deal with instead of playing golf but he has revealed himself and his weakness clearly in the past weeks.
Some people crave attention, even when it comes in a negative way. Hope superman is finally getting some real help and will stop making the front page because next time it may not be so comical.

I have mentioned this before and one of Vance County’s former county commissioner is the POSTER “BOY” for it………….drug testing for elected officials!! Just got back from out of town and noticed that Scott Hughes was busted with some heroin according to the Front Page of the Daily Dispatch! WOW!!! Who else agrees with the idea of drug testing elected officials? The way some of them talk/vote it could be that some impairment of some sort may be affecting their ability to think?
Have been searching for the Heritage Foundation report that says poor people are responsible for the countrys debt with no success. I read a recent lengthy report on poverty in America by HF but that was all I could find. Bigfoot, can you enlighten us about where we can read that report?
Elected officials being drug tested? Sure why not. I say we get to them after we drug test those who live off of my tax dollars. You want government help? You can have it, just pass the drug test first.

C’mon scott hughes who will you blame this on? Now I see why your name was in the Daily Dispatch a couple of months ago for Child Support. If you need help buddy, be a man about it and you can go into a treatment facility for addicts. Never heard anything else about why you were on top of your dad’s office and fell a couple of years ago….with the recent article in the paper does that have anything to do with that foolish act? I hate to see anyone who is on ANY TYPE of drugs, including alcohol b/c they ruin people’s lives and families. Did anyone read the Letter to Editor today ? Devonda Bailey accuses The Daily Dispatch of personal attacks on Ronald Gregory, school superintendent. It stands to reason why she wrote it….she is the daughter of Gregory’s sister in-law.

As far as Hughes…did anyone hear the Monday Edition of WIZS 1450 Town Talk when a caller claimed that scott had fallen off a building a while back and thus needed the heroin for pain? From the way he sounded scott must have shared his ‘goodies’ with his buddy!!! Stop doing drugs hughes and pay your Child Support!!! I’m sick & tired of DEADBEAT DADS who don’t pay their child support!!
