Armed Robbery Arrest Hampton Inn

On November 29, 2011 around 1:46 AM officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to the Hampton Inn, 382 Ruin Creek Road, Henderson in reference to an armed robbery that occurred.

The suspect displayed a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Upon arrival, officers obtained a description of the suspect.

About fifteen minutes later a Vance County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a green Ford Explorer traveling at a high rate of speed on I-85 North. Upon the deputy initiating a traffic stop a male passenger exited the vehicle and ran into a wooded area.

The deputy remained with the vehicle that was occupied and one of the occupants was arrested. The wooded area was searched, but officers were unable to locate the suspect. Members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations Division were contacted to continue the investigation.

Upon further investigation, the occupant in the vehicle, Christopher Blake Patton, 24, of 2709 Southerland Mill Road, Henderson was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He received a $60,000 secured bond pending a court hearing on December 12, 2011. Additional arrest(s) are expected in this case.
