Today, the Supreme Court issued a historic ruling: They upheld the Affordable Care Act and ensured that millions of American families will have access to health care and protection from the worst abuses of the insurance industry.
Lots of people have questions about the Affordable Care Act, the Supreme Court’s decision, and their health care coverage. We’ve pulled together the most useful information — including President Obama’s remarks after the announcement — at WhiteHouse.gov:
Watch the video and get the facts here.
Because the law has an impact on so many Americans, it’s important to understand its basic parts. We’ve also put together a list of facts about the Affordable Care Act. Will you give it a read, and then pass it on?
IF those who have no health insurance prioritized their money–they could pay at least part of the insurance BEFORE going for the disposable income luxuries. Many of us have done it for years–not relying on the government.
Many times for me when the mortgage, insurance and utilities were paid there was lot of month left at the end of the money–just saying.
Agreed that the insurance companies have not played fair–but this Obamacare comes down to a tax–and for many who have no intentions of working–it’s more cradle to grave government. These people will vote for Obama–in my opinion.
This is how the White House says the “affordable care act” will benefit me and punish those evil insurance companies, greedy hospitals and fat cat Doctors. If you continue to buy and pay for a health insurance premium you have to be a dummy. Just drop your plan and save your money. If you get sick, they have to cover you, it is all preexisting now. Now you may not get in to see that Doctor for a few months but it will all be free as the blowing wind. Free, free, free. I slept real good last knowing that the gubment was going to take such good care of me. I need taking care of, the heck with working. What is my fine gubment going to give me tomorrow? Everything is so fair now. Fair, fair, fair and equal.
notice that the list has only the so called goodies…which will raise rates on everyone..
but what it doesn’t list are all the taxes it imposes.
can someone tell me what is the idea behind keeping “kids” on parent’s insurance til age 26?
Ziggy, to give people time to focus on college, and for after college, more of a chance to find a full time job with health benefits.
