Perry Memorial Library presents the Second Annual Bennett Perry Archeology Day on September 29

The Perry Memorial Library presents the Second Annual Bennett Perry Archeology Day on September 29 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.  This event is named for and presented in memory of Bennett Perry, the long-time Chairman of the Library Board of Trustees, a staunch advocate for library services, and a collector of Native American artifacts.

Exhibitors will be displaying projectile points and other Native American artifacts in the library’s Gallery area from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.  At 1 p.m. there will be a presentation from Dr. Stephen Davis of the University of North Carolina.  Dr. Davis will present the program “The Archeology of Native American’s in Piedmont Carolina During the Early Historic Era.”  The program will be held in the library’s Farm Bureau Room.

Bennett Perry Archeology Day is made possible through a partnership with the Piedmont North Carolina Chapter of the Authentic Artifact Collectors Association (www.theaaca.com) and the Henderson Rotary Club.
