An exciting event is being planned for November 8th, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Vance County Library in downtown Henderson. Cardinal Innovations—Five County Community Operations Center is sponsoring a provider expo for consumers, families, and stakeholders. All providers with physical locations in the Five County catchment area will be invited to have a table at the exhibit and showcase their services. This event represents a wonderful opportunity for the community to meet and to get better acquainted with you—our providers. We are also very fortunate to have the opportunity to display the exhibit, “Behind the Seen: Encounters with the Contemporary family”. This exhibit was previously held in the spring of 2012 in Burlington, originating from a grant involving the Alamance Alliance for Children and Families and North Carolina Families United. Through the grant, sixteen well known artists observed and interacted with four System of Care families for three months. During this time, the artists created different pieces of art, based on their experiences with these families.
The goal of this exhibit was to use the art medium as a tool to increase awareness and to show the uniqueness of families, with children, experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. Complimenting this exhibit will be art work from Five County consumers, family members, and your staff. Art can be in the form of painting, sculptures, crafts, photographs and other forms of art. We ask that you share this upcoming event with your staff, consumers, and their families. (See attached Art Show Registration Form below). We eagerly look forward to your participation!
Included in this event will be an exciting opportunity for you to make a video highlighting your agency. Evolution Design Concepts, a video production company in Warren County, is offering participating providers the opportunity to make a two minute video clip showcasing your agency/practice. These video clips will be continuously displayed during the evening of this event. Furthermore, Evolution Design Concepts will provide each participating provider with a DVD and a MP3 copy of their own video clip that can be used on your agency website. This arrangement will be between Evolution Design and those of you who choose to participate. Evolution Design Concepts has informed us that the cost of this video only will be $30 per provider. This art show will be an excellent opportunity to promote consumer acceptance, validate the work you do, and help the public gain a better understanding of the individuals you serve. All artwork will be on display from 3:00 to 7:00, in conjunction with a documentary about the experiences of the “Behind the Seen” artists and the families they observed. Only a few counties in NC were able to exhibit this project and we were one of them. There will be free beverages, food, and door prizes at this expo.
