Vance County Schools – High School Academic All-Conference


Student athletes at Northern Vance and Southern Vance high schools proved during the fall that they are performing at a high level both in the classroom and on the playing field.

A total of 50 athletes at Northern Vance and 57 athletes at Southern Vance made Academic All-Conference while participating in fall sports for the 3-A Carolina Conference. Students have to maintain a 3.0 grade point average to earn academic all-conference honors.

The students participated in varsity football, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, women’s volleyball and cross country. Members of the cheerleading squad at Southern Vance also were recognized for academic all-conference. The Northern Vance cheerleaders will be recognized in the spring.

In varsity football, a total of 23 players, representing 66 percent of the team, at Southern Vance High School made academic all-conference. A total of 20 players or 54 percent of the team at Northern Vance High School received the same honors.

For men’s soccer, at Northern Vance there were 15 players and managers making academic all-conference. They represented 71 percent of the team members. The Southern Vance men’s soccer team had seven players or 39 percent of the team recognized.

The women’s tennis team at Southern Vance placed eight student athletes on the academic all-conference team which was 88 percent of the team members. The Northern Vance women’s tennis team had six members or 50 percent of the team to capture the academic honors.

The women’s volleyball teams had nine team members (64 percent) at Northern Vance and eight team members (40 percent) at Southern Vance earning academic all-conference recognition.

At Southern Vance High School, the cross country team had a total of 10 athletes or 91 percent of the team recognized as academic all-conference. Northern Vance did not have a cross country team this fall.

All 12 members of the Southern Vance cheerleading squad achieved academic all-conference honors.
