Mount Olive’s New Year’s Eve celebration was among last week’s USA Today’s “10 great places for a family-friendly New Year’s Eve.” The event culminates at 7 p.m. – midnight Greenwich Mean Time – with a 3-foot glowing pickle that’s lowered 50 feet into a tank at the corner of Cucumber and Vine streets, the site of the Mt. Olive Pickle Co.
