Vance-Granville Community College is offering Zumba fitness classes through a partnership with Henderson Family YMCA.
The classes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 until 7 p.m. at the YMCA, located at 380 Ruin Creek Road in Henderson. Sessions consisting of eight classes will begin on Feb. 5, March 5, and April 2. The cost for each session is $40.
Zumba is the Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that has quickly become popular throughout the region and around the world. Leah Englebright and Dana Allen, both licensed Zumba instructors from Oxford, will lead the classes. Englebright said that she enjoys teaching Zumba because “every class feels like a party!” She added that the fitness routine is easy to follow for people of all ages who are interested in burning calories while having fun.
