Over the past four years we have added 5.8 trillion dollars to our national debt. This week in the House, we passed the Require-A-PLAN Act with bipartisan support that requires President Obama to present a plan to balance the budget and reduce our national debt. Below, you will find an infographic which includes a chart showing just how dramatically our debt has risen and some key statistics regarding how this has played out in the executive and legislative branches.
Everyday we see new evidence of the burdens Obamacare regulations are placing on businesses and individuals. You will find information in this newsletter about a new online resource to help the public keep track of the new government mandates, rules, and red tape associated with Obamacare.
It was my pleasure Monday evening to host a teletownhall event to connect with constituents of the 2nd District. Participants were able to submit questions, answer a survey and receive important information that relates to the 2nd District and the nation. In this newsletter, you will find a link to an audio recording of the event.
I want to know what you think about the issues that affect you and your family. Please answer the poll question in the right sidebar about President Obama’s proposed gun regulations and connect with me at Ellmers.house.gov and on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

ObamaCare Burden Tracker
The Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, and Education and the Workforce Committees today unveiled the Obamacare Burden Tracker (#ObamacareBurden). The Burden Tracker is a real-time online resource to help the public keep track of all of the new government mandates, rules, and red tape as a result of Obamacare.
The burden of Obamacare is already being felt – even though many provisions of the law, including the requirement for most Americans to buy government-approved health insurance or pay a tax, are not set to take effect until 2014. According to the Obama Administration’s own estimates, Obamacare will require American job creators, families, and health care providers to spend over 127 million hours per year on compliance. That burden is growing with every new regulation published and the Burden Tracker will be updated as new regulations are issued throughout the year.
Require-A-PLAN

We cannot continue to pile up debt and pass the bill to future generations. The Require-A-PLAN Act was passed in the House this week with bipartisan support in a 253-167 vote.
