VGCC Board Holds Meeting


The Vance-Granville Community College Board of Trustees held its regular bimonthly meeting on Monday, January 28 at the college’s Henderson campus.

At the meeting, the Board voted to approve a mid-year amendment to the 2012-2013 Budget Resolution, which increased the college’s budget by $1,331,728. The College’s total combined amended 2012-2013 budget is now $47,271,031.

The Board also heard an update on Capital Building Projects from Building Committee Chair John M. Foster. The renovation of the library at VGCC’s South Campus (located between Creedmoor and Butner) has been completed at a cost of $133,957. The renovations to the South Campus parking lot were scheduled to be completed at the end of January at a cost of $164,715. The domestic water system and grinder pump station upgrade project for the College’s Corporate Campus, which is across from Main Campus on Poplar Creek Road near Henderson, is moving forward as planned with a contract awarded to McPherson Grading Co. for $39,900.

The next regular meeting of the Board will be held on Monday, March 18 at 7 p.m. in the board room on Main Campus.
