Volunteers are being sought as part of the Henderson-Vance Spring Litter Sweep Week, April 15-20, to help rake and clear leaves from Rock Bridge Cemetery, located just south of Henderson.
Spring Litter Sweep organizers would like to have volunteers raking and clearing leaves at the cemetery, located off Old Epsom Road at Skenes Avenue just south of Henderson, during the morning of Saturday, April 20.
The cemetery has been undergoing renovations by volunteer groups over the past several months. Current plans call for filling in sunken areas of the old cemetery with truck loads of dirt, but leaves need to be cleared from the property first.
Anyone or any groups in the local community interested in helping to rake and clear leaves at Rock Bridge Cemetery are asked to contact Terri Hedrick, chairperson of the Vance County Appearance Commission, at 252-915-9420 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interested volunteers will be asked to bring their own rakes, but gloves and bags for the leaves can be provided.
