Louisburg College Welcomes New Police Chief

LOUISBURG, N.C.—Louisburg College is pleased to announce the appointment of Vicki Reid to the role of Campus Police Chief as of November 1, 2013. The change follows the departure of Jeffrey Linney, who moved on from the College after five years of service to complete his doctoral study in information systems.

Reid has been part of Louisburg College Campus Police since 2010. After completing her Basic Law Enforcement Training at Vance Granville Community College in 2000, she earned her BS in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University in 2006. She has served in various law enforcement roles, including investigator, campus police officer, police chief, and most recently as sergeant for Louisburg College Campus Police.

While at Louisburg, Reid has worked to gain respect from and build rapport with the students. “I see Campus Police as educators with a valuable role to play in helping the College meet its mission of developing young men and women,” she says. “I’m dedicated to making the Campus Police Department efficient and effective, while maintaining the highest level of customer service.”

Jason Modlin, Vice President for Student Life, states that “Chief Reid continually earns the trust and respect of our students with her genuine concern for their welfare, and with her dedication to making our campus a safe place to live and learn.”

Chief Reid lives in Stovall, North Carolina with her son, Giovionne, a senior at Webb High School.
