This is an update concerning the Class of 2014 graduation ceremonies tomorrow at Northern Vance and Southern Vance high schools.
Due to changing weather conditions and forecasts, both Southern Vance and Northern Vance are planning to hold their graduation ceremonies outside in their football stadiums.
The Southern Vance High School graduation ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, June 14, in Raider Stadium and the Northern Vance High School graduation ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Viking Stadium.
If there is heavy rainfall tonight or tomorrow morning, both schools will hold their graduation ceremonies in their school gymnasiums. If the graduation ceremonies must be held indoors, seating will be available for additional guests in the cafeteria and in four classrooms at each school with the ceremonies live streamed, with video and sound, to these locations. If the ceremonies must be held in the gymnasiums, only those individuals who have admission tickets will be allowed in the gymnasiums. Other guests will be directed to the overflow areas in the cafeterias and classrooms. Whether the ceremonies are held outdoors or indoors, no devices that make noises, balloons, flowers and other similar items will be allowed. Those planning to attend the graduation ceremonies are asked to arrive early, so that the graduation ceremonies can begin on time without any distractions. Gates to the stadiums and gymnasium doors, if the ceremonies must be moved indoors, will open one hour prior to the beginning of the ceremony. Tight security measures will be in place during graduation ceremonies at both schools.
