White House $10.10: It’s Time to Raise the Minimum Wage

Yesterday, Vice President Biden talked with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and local business owners at the L.A. Baking Company about the importance of raising the national minimum wage to $10.10 per hour.

“No one in America should be working 40 hours a week and living below the poverty level,” the Vice President said. “No one.”

In his remarks, the Vice President also highlighted the “virtuous cycle” that raising the minimum wage would create. Raising the wage would put $19 billion into the economy; consumers would spend more; businesses would grow; and jobs would be created.

Find out more about why raising the wage is good for low-income individuals, small businesses, the middle class, and our economy as a whole.
