Vance County Schools is actively participating in the observance of National Anti-Bullying Month during October. Many of our schools are conducting campaigns to prevent bullying and share information with students and parents on the importance of having “bully free” schools. Our schools focus on this issue year-round, but are making special efforts during this month of national observance.
The school system also is supporting plans for an Anti-Bullying Rally, sponsored by the Vance County Sheriff’s Department, on Saturday, October 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the auditorium at Henderson Middle School.
We encourage you to consider attending this important community event. We also hope that you will share information about the event with family members and friends and urge them to attend.
The Anti-Bullying Rally will include presentations by law enforcement representatives, community organizations and student groups, as well as entertainment by local school groups. It will feature serious discussions to raise awareness about the problems of bullying in our community and how everyone can become proactive in preventing and dealing with bullying.
Please consider attending this worthwhile event and getting other adults and children to attend.
