State Farmers Market to host Fall Craft Fair Nov. 7-9

RALEIGH – Shoppers looking to get a start on their holiday gift buying can find unique, locally made items during the annual Fall Craft Fair at the State Farmers Market Nov. 7-9.

“Most people think of the State Farmers Market as a great place to shop for holiday meals,” said market manager Ronnie Best. “It’s also a great place to shop for holiday gifts, especially during the Fall Craft Fair.”

Dozens of crafters will be set up throughout the market during the event, selling everything from quilted items and woodworking pieces to garden accessories and holiday wreaths. The craft fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Vendors in the Farmers Building will have a variety of fall produce including apples, greens, squash and sweet potatoes. Trees and shrubs for fall planting are still available, as well as pumpkins and gourds for fall decorations. Starting the weekend before Thanksgiving, farmers will also have fresh N.C. Christmas trees, poinsettias, wreaths and garland for purchase.

In addition to local produce, the Market Shoppes offers a variety of N.C. seafood, meats and cheeses, cakes and pies, jams and jellies and other food items. Visitors can find home and garden décor at Market Imports. They also can enjoy a meal at the Market Grill, N.C. Seafood Restaurant or State Farmers Market Restaurant.

The market is located at 1201 Agriculture St. in Raleigh, off exit 297 on Interstate 40. More information about the market and a complete schedule of events is available at www.statefarmersmarket.org.
