United Way of Vance County Seeking Nominations for Outstanding Local Volunteers

The Volunteer Center Advisory Board of the United Way of Vance County is seeking nominations of outstanding local volunteers for recognition in the annual N.C. Governor’s Volunteer Service Award program. We know that there are many dedicated volunteers in our community who are deserving of this state recognition.

We are seeking nominations for those who through the donation of their time and talents have made a positive difference in our community over the last year. Nominations forms may be picked up at the United Way of Vance County office, located at 212 Dabney Drive in Henderson, or requested by e-mail at unitedwayvance@yahoo.com. Forms must be returned to the United Way office by Friday, December 19, 2014.

Once all of the nominations have been received, members of the Volunteer Center Advisory Board will review the nominations and select the top 10 nominees to be submitted to the state for consideration for the 2015 Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards.

Those outstanding local volunteers recognized by the state will be honored by our local Volunteer Center in April during “National Volunteer Week.”

We urge you to nominate your most outstanding volunteer or volunteers!

If you have any questions about the nomination process, please contact Nancy Gray, executive director of the United Way of Vance County, by phone at 492-8392 or by email at ngray@unitedwayvance.org.
