Henderson native Georgia Hobbs to be featured designer at NCSU Art2Wear

Georgia Hobbs is a senior at NCSU in the school of design. She has been honored as a selected designer in the prestigious fashion show Art2Wear.

Art2Wear (A2W) is celebrating its 14th year as a student organized runway show that presents fashion, costume, and wearable sculpture created by the students of the NC State University College of Design and College of Textiles. This annual event hosted by the NC State College of Design, in collaboration with the College of Textiles, attracts an audience of 4,000 and growing each year.

The show is April 17th, 2015.  Tickets are available at https://squareup.com/market/ncsuart2wear

Her collection for Art2Wear, entitled Ethereal Mutation, focuses on transformative garments that are loosely based around the unexpected nature of dreams. Hobbs was inspired by the unsettling and contrasting elements that dreams can convey and wanted to illustrate this through her collection.  Read an interview with Georgia at http://ncsuart2wear.blogspot.com/2015/02/feb-2-7-designer-showcase-week-georgia.html
