Students in grades 3-5 at Carver Elementary School who won top honors in the school’s Reading Fair were treated to a limousine ride to the Barnes & Noble bookstore at Triangle Town Center in Raleigh, followed by lunch at The Olive Garden in Wake Forest on April 17. The students won first, second and third place for their respective grade levels in the Reading Fair, which included them illustrating and describing the book they read on a project board.

Carver Reading Rewards 2

Amiyah Henderson is shown in the second photo making her way down the “celebrity” carpet as students and teachers bid her farewell.

The students were sent off on their trip by their classmates in grades 3-5 who lined a white carpet with red confetti from the school’s entrance to the waiting limousine. The students blew soapy water bubbles as each of the nine winners walked out.
