New Film and Entertainment Grant guidelines finalized by N.C. Commerce

The new Film and Entertainment Grant program guidelines have been finalized by the N.C. Dept. of Commerce. To qualify, a television series must average a minimum in-state spend of $1 million per episode, while a feature-length film must spend at least $5 million, and a commercial production must have a minimum spend of at least $250,000; there are also limitations on the amount of the grant awarded for each type of production. Funds from the grant, which is now funded with $30 million each fiscal year for both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 fiscal years, will serve as a rebate of up to 25 percent on qualified expenses and purchases of productions.
