Vance County Schools Join Salvation Army Food Drive

The Food Drive ended on December 8 with students, parents, staff members and community members donating 711 total food items to be given to needy families in the area during the holidays. The large cupcake display on the bulletin board was created by Zeb Vance’s art teacher Kristen Ciannamea, with the help of some of her students. The large cupcake is surrounded by smaller cupcakes on the board with each smaller version representing 10 cans collected. Students in the homeroom that collected the most canned goods was treated to a pizza party.

The school’s Food Drive was part of the Vance County Schools’ campaign in all 17 schools which resulted in thousands of canned and nonperishable food items given to the Salvation Army for distribution to needy families.
