Henderson Police Department Target Stores Selling Alcohol and Tobacco to Minors
On Tuesday, December 29, 2015, members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations unit conduct an operation to check compliance of the state’s alcohol and tobacco sales law. Officers utilized an underage (17 year old) informant and sent him into retail outlets to check compliance. The underage minor was able to purchase alcohol and tobacco products in 19 retail establishments. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler announced that the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will activate its toll-free weather emergency hotline Friday to help farmers affected by the winter storm connect with resources. “Farmers who have an agricultural emergency can call 1-866-645-9403,” said Troxler. “We are ready to help connect farmers with local resources right away.” Farmers can call the hotline to connect with resources to help with recovery from ice, snow or wind damage and power outages.
