Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler releases ban on poultry shows and sales
Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler announced today that the suspension of live poultry shows and sales has been lifted, a week earlier than when the ban was set to expire. Troxler also released the registration requirements for small flock owners. “I promised at the beginning that we would review the ban in January, and now it looks as if it is safe to go ahead and lift the restrictions,” said Troxler. Henderson Police Department Seize Heroin Valued at over $420,000
On Wednesday, December 30, 2015, members of the Henderson Police Department arrested two individuals for trafficking heroin. The individuals in this matter were charged with trafficking 840 bricks(42,000 individual dosage units). The heroin seized in this matter had a street value of more than 420,000.00. Cory Davis, 35, 89 Ramblewood Lane, Henderson was charged with conspiring to traffic heroin. Davis was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 200,000.00 secured bond. On December 17, the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) approved 15 grant requests totaling $3,039,244. The requests include commitments to create a total of 219 new jobs.
