VGCC Summer Term registration ends May 19; Fall registration continues

Area residents have until Thursday, May 19, to complete the process of registering for Summer Term classes at Vance-Granville Community College. Those classes begin on Monday, May 23. Meanwhile, registration has already begun for the fall semester, which starts Aug. 15.

For new students, enrollment begins with an application for admission and an application for financial aid. Then, students must request their official high school transcripts, and in some cases, their transcripts from other colleges they have attended. Next, they should meet with an academic/career coach in the Student Success Center on any VGCC campus. Many students will need to complete a placement test, unless it is waived.

Finally, new students must attend an orientation session, either online or in a traditional face-to-face format. A prospective student must sign up for New Student Orientation in advance by visiting orientation.vgcc.edu.

Course schedules are now available online at schedules.vgcc.edu. All summer curriculum courses are eight weeks in length and will end on July 25. The VGCC course selection for this summer’s term is more robust than in years past, including a variety of online and on-campus sections.

The tuition payment deadline for Summer Term is Thursday, May 19, by 5 p.m., if paying in person, or by midnight, if paying online through WebAdvisor.

Fall Semester registration continues through July 29, with an additional period of registration from Aug. 3-10.
