“What is early literacy? Early literacy is what children know about reading and writing before they can actually read and write.”
Wednesday’s open line
The Clean-Up Henderson Committee will meet at the City Operations Center Conference Room at 8:00 a.m. With over 170 vacant and dilapidated structures in the city alone, we’re amazing that more residents don’t show up to see this committee at work. When it comes to maintaining and increasing property values, surely Hendersonians can find a common ground. The only important color, after all, is green. Add your own two cents on today’s open line.

Well, we forgot to pick up our press packet at the County Administration Building, so if you want to know what’s going to happen at tonight’s County Commissioner’s meeting, you’ll just have to read about it in The Daily Dispatch. Bad editor! We do know that tonight the final (recommended) version of the county-wide zoning ordinance is due from the Planning Board, so we wonder if there will be any associated fireworks. With that, the floor is yours. Happy Monday!

Weekend open line
Yes, I’m alive, but just barely, with a headache that won’t quit and computer problems as big as all indoors. I long for a simpler time when I had but one key (and that was to my automobile) and I could still kill dinner with my car. Now it’s your turn to ramble on this weekend’s open line.
