City council sets unoffical speed record
The Henderson City Council ended its open session in approximately 35 minutes, making Mayor Pro-Tempore Ranger Wilkerson’s presiding debut the most remarkable in recent memory.
Choices three for fate of Armory
At tonight’s Vance County Board of Commissioner’s meeting, the board plans to make a propostion to the City of Henderson advancing three scenarios for the dispostion of the jointly owned Armory and former library on Rose Avenue. That document may be viewed here.
Wilkerson presiding at tonight’s city council
It is noted on tonight’s Henderson City Council agenda that Mayor Pro Tempore Ranger Wilkerson will be presiding in the absence of Henderson Mayor Clem Seifert. The reason for Seifert’s absence is not known. There are no highly controversial issues on tonight’s agenda. A copy of the agenda may be viewed here.

According to Faye Gill, Director of the Vance County Board of Elections, a hearing will be held on Thursday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m. to challenge page 73 of George Hoyle’s petition to be placed on the ballot for the sheriff’s race in November.
