Young artists showcased at VGCC Child Care Center
The Child Care Center at Vance-Granville Community College’s Main Campus held an Art Show on March 21. Approximately 150 works of art created by 37 artists (who ranged in age from one to five years old) were displayed. The children used a variety of techniques, including finger painting, watercolors, collages and flowers made with hand-prints and foot-prints, as well as marble painting, in which marbles covered in paint are rolled from side to side on paper, and squirt bottle painting. …

The all-volunteer Vance-Granville Community Band has started rehearsals again for the 2014 year and is inviting interested musicians of all ages to become new members. The Student North Carolina Association of Educators (SNCAE) chapter at Vance-Granville Community College held a children’s book drive during the month of December.
