Pony Express makes it easier to enter contests at Mountain State Fair
FLETCHER — The N.C. Mountain State Fair is making it easier for people to submit their competitive entries. The fair’s Pony Express will transport entries from area Cooperative Extension offices to the fair for judging. Assault Case: On July 27, 2013 at approximately 3:29 A.M., members of the Henderson Police Department responded to 624 Flint Street in reference to two victims shot. The next Oxford Preparatory High School student orientation/information session will be held Tuesday 8/6 from 6:00 – 7:00 in the meeting room of the Richard Thornton Library in Oxford. Vaccination can prevent equine deaths from EEE
RALEIGH – A low-cost vaccination may have prevented the deaths of six equine that died after contracting Eastern Equine Encephalomyelitis, according to state veterinary officials. A seventh animal appears to be recovering from the disease. State Veterinarian David Marshall recommends that equine owners talk to their veterinarians about an effective vaccination protocol to protect horses from EEE and another mosquito-borne disease, West Nile virus. Peter Karmanos, owner and CEO of the Carolina Hurricanes, will be inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame’s Class of 2013, according to USA Hockey. Keylan Johnson was apprehended, July 30, 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida by the United States Marshals Service.
