Shots Fired on Montogmery Street, Domestic Dispute
On April 1, 2013 around 1:30 PM officers responded to 846 E. Montgomery Street in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival two subjects were located at the residence and were detained. Henderson Police Department: Rape Suspect Arrested
On Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 2:28 P.M., Henderson Police officers were dispatched to Thomas Street in Henderson in reference to a sexual assault. The 50 year-old victim in this matter stated that while walking down Young Avenue, she was confronted by a male with a handgun. The victim was forcibly removed from the roadway at which time she was sexually assaulted. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Officers were able to locate the suspect shortly …
Henderson Police Department: Arrest related to Murder at Scottish Inn
On Wednesday March 27, 2013, William Ormond, 25, of 106 Alexander Lane, Henderson was served with a true bill of indictment for accessory after the fact in relation to the murders that occurred at the Scottish Inns. He received a $150,000 secured bond pending a court hearing on April 30, 2013.
Three new NCDA&CS regional agronomists available to advise growers

Growers can now seek agricultural advice from Georgia Love in Anson, Guilford, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Richmond and Scotland counties; Chris Jernigan in Craven, Carteret, Greene, Jones, Lenoir and Pitt counties; and Amy Poirier in Cabarrus, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, Surry, Union and Yadkin counties. NCDA&CS to treat gypsy moth infestations in Granville and Warren counties
RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will soon treat gypsy moth infestations in Granville and Warren counties. The treatments are anticipated to occur between April 5 and April 25, depending on weather conditions and insect development. Two fine-mist applications of the biological pesticide Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki, or Bt(k), will be made four to 10 days apart. Treatments will be accomplished using low-flying helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft. The proposed 922-acre treatment block in north-central Granville County is …

Bobby G. Austin of Graham, N.C. was recently named program head for the Radiography degree program at Vance-Granville Community College. He brings many years of experience both as a radiologic technologist and as an educator to his new position.
