On March 29, 2011 around 8:58 p.m. officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to the Budget Host Inn, 1727 N. Garnett Street in Henderson, North Carolina in reference to a person who had been shot. Upon arrival officers found Joseph Michael Harris, 54, of Oxford, North Carolina deceased from a gunshot wound.
