The Vance County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a proposal during Monday’s regular meeting to lease 1.95 acres of land for the use of the newly-formed Henderson Collegiate Charter School.

Vance gets planning grant for proposed Kittrell sewer
County Manager Jerry Ayscue reported at Monday’s meeting of the Vance County Board of Commissioners that Vance has obtained a $40,000 planning grant to study the feasibility of running a sewer line from Kittrell to Henderson along US 1 South.

Arrest made in November triple shooting
On November 29 2009 at 4:15 p.m. officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 400 block of Merriman Street.
Pawn shop burglar apprehended by HPD
On December 18, 2009 around 2:30 a.m. patrol officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to the Hard Times Pawn Shop at 106 Dabney Drive in reference to an alarm activation.
