City awards $425k bid to H.G. Reynolds
The Henderson City Council voted unanimously at Monday evening’s workshop session to award a $423,438 bid to local contractor H.G. Reynolds for sewer rehabilitation.
Shahita White convicted of DWI
WRAL is reported that Shahita White, daughter of Vance County Sheriff Peter White, was convicted of driving while intoxicated today in District Court. You may read the WRAL report here. According to the WRAL report, an appeal has already been filed on Shahita White’s behalf to Superior Court.

The Vance County Board of Education’s Finance Committee will meet on August 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. The Building & Grounds Committee will meet on August 28, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. The location of the meetings was not disclosed in the press release from the school system. Public hearing on amendments to state EC policies
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction’s Exceptional Children Division will hold a public hearing to receive comments regarding the Department’s proposed amendments to Sections NC1504-2.1(d) and NC1504-2.9(b) of “Policies Governing Services for Children with Disabilities” pursuant to Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA).
