Drug arrest after search on Mayo Street
Henderson Police Chief Keith Sidwell reported today that members of the Henderson Police Department’s Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant on October 10, 2007 at the residence at 403 Mayo Street.

CD Com. to discuss A.L. Harris project bids
The Henderson City Council’s Community Development Committee, chaired by Council member Garry Daeke, will meet on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room to discuss bids for the A.L. Harris project. According to a notice from City Clerk Dianne White, other items may be added to the committee’s agenda.
FAIR Com. will meet to discuss HPD chief request
Finance and Intergovernmental Relations (FAIR) Committee chair Lynn Harper has called a brief meeting of her committee for Monday, October 22, 2007 in the City Hall Conference Room. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a request by Henderson Police Chief Keith Sidwell concerning police vehicles.
Show, Shine, Shag, & Dine event begins today
By Saturday, the Downtown Garnett Street area and side streets of Henderson will be turned into a pedestrian mall filled with some of the finest hot rods, muscle cars, and restored antique autos in the Southeast.
2-hour delay for VCS schools Friday
Vance County Schools will be operating under a two hour delay on Friday, October 19, 2007.
Boil all water used for human consumption
System pressure advisory in effect The water consumers of Kerr Lake Regional Water System, in Vance County, Warren County, Kittrell, Norlina, Warrenton, City of Oxford, Stovall, Franklin County are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to a 14’ line break in the south Henderson area.
Vance County Schools closed to students
Due to a problem with the water system, Vance County Schools are closed to students for Thursday, October 18, 2007. More information will be forthcoming as it is made available.

On September 28, 2007, a breaking and entering occurred at a residence located at 623 Farrar Avenue.

Etheridge votes for S-CHIP veto override
