The number of teachers leaving North Carolina public school classrooms was down slightly from last year according to the 2013-14 Annual Report on Teachers Leaving the Profession just presented to State Board of Education members. In 2013-14, 13,557 teachers left their local school districts resulting in an overall state turnover rate of 14.12 percent. This was down from the 14.33 percent reported in 2012-13. VGCC Advisory Committees hold annual meetings
Citizens from Vance, Granville, Franklin and Warren counties came together at the Main Campus of Vance-Granville Community College on Oct. 28 as the college’s advisory committees held their annual meetings. VGCC’s 37 advisory committees are made up of people from the communities served by the college who have worked in the fields for which the college offers training. Section of Rolesville Road to Close Weekend of Nov. 7-9 for Bypass Work
RALEIGH — Work on the U.S. 401 Rolesville Bypass project will close a section of Rolesville Road for a weekend, starting Friday, Nov. 7. The closure, which is weather conditional, would be in effect from 10 p.m. on Friday, with the re-opening set for 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, to accommodate rush hour traffic. Vance-Granville Community College held educational programs for students on two campuses in recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. DuPont Forest planning November timber harvest
CEDAR MOUNTAIN – DuPont State Recreational Forest will be harvesting timber in November on 35 acres near the Conservation Road and Lake Julia Dam Road and on 25 acres near Joanna Road.
