Ethel J. Hunter, a veteran member of the faculty at Eaton-Johnson Middle School, has been selected as the Teacher of the Year for Vance County Schools for 2014-2015. This is her second selection as the district’s Teacher of the Year. She was previously chosen for the honor for the 2006-2007 school year. RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources are seeking input from the public about any local ordinances that might interfere with the state agencies’ own regulations. Farmers should have corn tested for aflatoxin
RALEIGH — Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler is encouraging farmers to have their corn tested for aflatoxin to prevent contamination of feeds and food. New fees go into effect Oct. 1 for NC poultry growers
RALEIGH – North Carolina poultry growers who want to join the National Poultry Improvement Plan and receive a registration number will have to pay a $50 registration fee plus 10 cents per bird tested beginning Oct. 1. Growers with an existing registration number will need to pay a $10 annual recertification fee and pay 10 cents per bird tested to maintain their status.
