Recognition Council Member Daeke introduced Wayne Woody, Scout Master for the Boy Scout High Adventure Group 605. Mr. Woody introduced four “boy scouts” who rescued a family with an elderly woman who had fallen and injured herself while hiking on a trail near Boone. The four “scouts” all over 18 and not all male included two certified EMTs. VGCC Students inducted into Honor Society

Vance-Granville Community College recognized 90 students who were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for students of two-year colleges, on April 15 in the Civic Center on the college’s Main Campus. Signs Go Up Along North Carolina’s Newest Interstate, I-495

Raleigh—Motorists traveling on U.S. 64/264 and U.S. 64 between Interstate 440 in Raleigh and I-95 in Nash County are seeing something new along the highway. Lamonte Adams Arrested on Heroin Charges

On Tuesday, April 22, 2014, members of the Henderson Police Department arrested Lamonte Jayquan Adams, 20, 1013 N. Pinkston Street, Henderson. Adams was charged with one count of felony possession of heroin. Adams was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 5,000.00 secured bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in Vance County District Court on May 5, 2014.
