VGCC names new Social Sciences chair
Vance-Granville Community College instructor Kristi Salmons-Ellenberg was recently named chair of the college’s Social Sciences department. A resident of Henderson, Salmons-Ellenberg has taught at VGCC since 2010 and continues teaching Sociology courses. The Social Sciences department, part of the VGCC Arts and Sciences division, provides instruction in anthropology, economics, history, psychology, political science and sociology. Vance-Granville Community College is offering professional development opportunities for local afterschool program administrators and staff members. “Upping Your Afterschool Game,” an all-day North Carolina Afterschool Professional Development Competency Training session, is scheduled to be held in Room 6115 on VGCC’s Main Campus in Vance County on Saturday, March 8, and again on Saturday, May 10.
