Mary H. McMannen of Oxford, an Accounting Technician in the Business Office at Vance-Granville Community College, was recently honored by her peers in education. On Oct. 28, McMannen received the Lula M. Burrell Educational Office Professional of the Year award from the North Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals District 10. The district includes Granville, Vance, Warren, Wake, and Franklin counties. NC Selected To Participate In National Teacher Effectiveness Policy Effort

Henderson Gives Dabney Study the “Go-Ahead.”

The City Council voted Monday night to approve asking the state DOT to conduct a feasibility study which would examine the possibility of expanding Dabney Drive into two one-way streets, with Corbitt Road and parts of the former railway line forming semi-parallel alternate avenues.
