Franklinton man arrested for statutory rape
On June 22, 2010 after a investigation conducted by members of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, Victor Hernandez 61 Happy Valley in Franklinton, North Carolina was arrested and charged with three counts of statutory rape of a fourteen year old.

Etheridge calls for unemployment benefit extension
Washington, D.C. -— U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) voted yesterday for H.R. 5618, the Restoration of Emergency Unemployment Compensation Act, which would have extended unemployment insurance benefits to tens of thousands of North Carolina families in need.
