Assistant City Manager Frank Frazier told the Henderson City Council on Monday night that he hopes The Daily Dispatch will provide coverage to get “a few more applicants” for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money for sewer hook-ups.

Rasheed asks city to participate in Zene St. project
After the Henderson City Council approved a memorandum of understanding between the North Carolina Community Development Initiative and the city, Initiative CEO Abdul Rasheed told members that for the project to be successful, anything the city can do in terms of services that can be housed at the location would be good.

NVHS drafting class redesigns “Interiors” building
The drafting class of Mr. Jeff Arthurs of Northern Vance High School presents its redesign of the downtown “Interiors” building to the Henderson City Council on Monday evening. Northern Vance High School Engineering & Architecture instructor Jeff Arthurs watched as students from his drafting class presented their drawings of architectural designs for the downtown revitalization of the “Interiors” building.

City resolves to apply for performance hall grant
A lengthly public hearing at the Henderson City Council’s “short” session ended last night with the Henderson City Council voting unanimously to both reopen the David Street Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and to apply for $1 million for the construction of a performance hall as part of the Embassy Block project.
