Etheridge objects to education cuts

Also, the Board of Commissioners has been invited to attend (just to observe) a presentation by Be Active North Carolina. The presentation will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Aycock Recreation Complex. At this time, no commissioner is scheduled to attend.

Tax rebate bill sent to President
Washington, D.C. -— U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington), a member of the House Budget Committee, today voted for a final compromise version of legislation that would provide more than 3.5 million North Carolina households with a tax rebate and help stimulate the economy.
Vance County Schools dropout rate decreases
Vance County Schools posted a dropout rate of 5.06%, or 190 students during the 2006-2007 school year.
