Raleigh – State representatives unanimously approved a bill Tuesday that tightens regulations for sex offenders.
City demo plans stymied by landfill fees
City Manager Jerry Moss reported to the Henderson City Council on Monday evening that he had told Code Compliance Director Corey Williams to wait on demolitions until the city figures out what to do about landfill fees.

As a parent of a child who has played with the Vance County Recreation Department, I am concerned over the selection of coaches for our rec teams who do not represent the kind of individuals who should lead or guide our very impressionable children.

Council approves new budget
The Henderson City Council approved the budget for fiscal 2006-2007 in a unanimous vote on Monday evening.
Council votes for insurance or cash

Council votes additional $23,000 for library
At Monday night’s council meeting, Henderson City Council member Mary Emma Evans introduced a motion to increase funding to the H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library from $277,000 to $300,000.
