Pick of the day: Time for dads

Mother’s Day means flowers and cards, but what do you for Father’s Day? Get Dad a tie he doesn’t want and remind him that he has to go back to work tomorrow? Give him a power tool or some other gadget from Lowe’s, in effect telling him to get working on that “honey, do” list around the house? For our money, some quiet time with sports on TV (the U.S. Open and/or the College World Series), an hour or so playing catch or kicking a soccer ball or shooting hoops with the kids, and a nice steak dinner won’t go wrong. And then it’s back to to work tomorrow.
